John Laybourn is a founder Director of LTP2000 Ltd., which formally traded as the Language Training Partnership. The business was first established in 1992 by Joe Glancy. We became a limited company in May 1999.

John has a strong business and financial background and specialises in financial translation from Spanish and Italian to English.

We provide language services, mainly in the Sunderland area, concentrating on language tuition. The company won the "Regional Language Trainer of the Year" award in 1997/8 and again in 1999. We were approved as an examination centre by the NEAB in 1996 and subsequently by EDEXCEL. The company was later approved as an examination centre by the Institute of Linguists.

We now have an extensive and varied client list. It includes, Faurecia, Nissan, Rolls Royce, Sunderland Association Football Club, Sunderland Marine Insurance and Unipres.

Today our business consists of approximately 50% teaching and 50% translation / interpreting. We believe that 'Language learning should be fun and profitable'; our mission statement.

Companies requesting training for their staff can have the process broken down into objectives in order to see in advance what can be achieved. Progress can then be monitored throughout.

Our business is based in the Sunderland Business and Innovation Centre where we started in the 1990’s. This enables us to access their many excellent facilities and maintain close relations with Business Link and the Training and Enterprise Council which support businesses in a wide variety of ways.
